Kyle Juszczyk was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Harvard.

He became a modern offensive weapon, redefining the fullback position. It came with multiple Pro Bowl selections and became a vital piece for both the Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers.

His career began when he was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, making his Pro Day and the Senior Bowl crucial to his draft stock. He did so well that he was drafted in 2013, a rare feat for an Ivy League fullback at the time.

After a few years in Baltimore, he signed with San Francisco in 2017 under head coach Kyle Shanahan, resetting the fullback market. He is a huge part of the team.

San Francisco 49ers versatile offensive weapon Kyle Juszczyk suffered a painful training camp injury that leaves him sidelined temporarily. The frustrating physical setback occurs right as the NFC team ramps up its heavy summer preparations.

The veteran blocking specialist was officially forced out of active drills after sustaining a broken finger. The veteran Pro Bowler joined a growing list of players unavailable as the team continues dealing with multiple absences.

Reports confirmed that the injury occurred during recent sessions. Kyle Juszczyk was immediately removed from team drills. Meanwhile, the 10-time Pro Bowl selection has dealt with similar finger issues in the past.

In addition, the absence comes amid a broader wave of injuries affecting nearly twenty players.

Juszczyk remains a critical piece of the run-heavy scheme that relies heavily on his blocking and receiving contributions. During the 2025 NFL regular season, the San Francisco 49ers’ fullback recorded 24 receptions for 213 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He played in 17 games.

Due to various injuries in the 49ers’ wide receiver corps, Juszczyk was leaned on more heavily in the passing game.
