Veteran linebacker Kyzir White will get the opportunity to chase a Super Bowl 60 ring, after all.

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the San Francisco 49ers have signed Kyzir White ahead of Sunday’s Wild Card Round game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles. White was waived by the Tennessee Titans in December after the two sides agreed to part ways.

The signing of White comes one day after linebacker Tatum Bethune was ruled out for the year with a groin injury. The banged-up 49ers are already without superstar defensive end Nick Bosa for the rest of the season.

San Francisco also lost linebacker Fred Warker with a gruesome ankle injury in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Warner could return for the NFC Championship Game if they advance that far, per David Bonilla of 49ers Webzone.

The 49ers visit the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round on Sunday (4:30 p.m. EST).

The 29-year-old White spent his first four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers (2018 to 2021). He then landed with the Eagles in 2022. He spent the 2023 and 2024 campaigns with the Arizona Cardinals before joining the Titans.

White played just a single game for the Titans. He logged a career-high 2.5 sacks in Arizona last season, along with one interception, three pass breakups and 137 combined tackles.

Kyzir White was part of the 2022 Eagles team that reached Super Bowl 57, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. That was the only year White has been in the postseason, but that will finally change on Sunday.

The 49ers have played in the NFC Championship Game four times since 2019, winning it twice (2019 and 2023). We’ll see if they can get back there with a banged-up defense.
