5x Pro Bowler And Super Bowl Champion Announces Retirement From NFL

The NFL has seen its fair share of retirements this season. More recently, a former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver unretired and joined the Tennessee Titans. On Thursday, one of the most iconic cornerbacks of this generation decided to hang up the cleats.
Stephon Gilmore shared an Instagram post with his highlights to send a message to his first love, football, thanking the sport for allowing him to create memories and connections that will accompany him for the rest of his life.
“From my first game with Finley Road Falcons to two Super Bowls, multiple Pro Bowls, and a Defensive Player of the Year Award, you taught me the invaluable lesson of working hard and believing in myself,” Gilmore wrote. “To my wife and kids, thank you for making it possible for me to chase my dreams. To my parents, thank you for raising me to be the man I am today.”
He also thanks his coaches for all the lessons over the years.
“And to the fans—thank you for your support. I have had an incredible 13 years in the League, and I cannot wait to see what this next chapter holds. “
Stephon Gilmore Had A Terrific NFL Career

The Buffalo Bills picked Stephon Gilmore with the No. 10 pick in the 2012 NFL draft. He went on to have a 13-year career in the league, with stints with the New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings.
He played 180 games, recording 617 tackles, one sack, eight forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, 32 interceptions for 496 yards and two touchdowns and 64 passes defended.
Gilmore leaves the league as a five-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro and one-time Super Bowl champion.
