The Dallas Cowboys franchise tagged star wide receiver George Pickens after a terrific 2025 season. Following a rocky tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pickens joined a Cowboys team that ended up having one of the best offenses in the league.
Pickens led the team in receptions (93), targets (137), yards (1,429) and touchdowns (nine), becoming one of the most fruitful additions of the 2025 campaign. Jerry Jones made it clear he would love to keep Pickens on the roster, but he would demand a high contract after a career year. Despite tagging him, the Cowboys are reportedly willing to trade him away.
“The Cowboys have shown a willingness to trade their star players for significant draft pick compensation,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport said last month. “Maybe those players have the same agent in David Mulugheta. I’m just saying, it’s an interesting situation to consider.”
Cleveland Browns Could Trade For George Pickens

One AFC North team emerged as a potential landing spot for Pickens. He could return to the division after playing three campaigns with the Steelers. Brian Martin of SB Nation mentioned the Cleveland Browns as a potential trade partner for the Cowboys. They would send the No. 24 and No. 107 picks in this year’s draft.
“The Browns need as much help as they can get, especially on the offensive side of the ball,” Martin wrote. “One of their biggest roster needs is wide receiver and in this year’s draft class who can step in and make them better as much as George Pickens? He’s someone they can continue to build around for the future.”
Pickens could be the answer to unlock Shedeur Sanders’ potential. It wouldn’t be the first time the Cowboys and Browns do business with a star wide receiver. Amari Cooper joined the Browns after playing in Dallas from 2018 through 2021.
