AJ Brown Joins AFC Star QB In Blockbuster Trade Proposal For Former First-Round Pick

Since 2024, AJ Brown has become a popular name in trade rumors. The veteran wide receiver has shown his frustration with the direction the Philadelphia Eagles took after running back Saquon Barkley arrived and the emergence of the “tush push” as the team’s signature play.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts has been more active running the ball, which has relegated the passing game. Brown ended the 2025 season on a low note, dropping costly passes and going at it with head coach Nick Sirianni during the wild-card round loss to the San Francisco 49ers a couple of weeks ago.
With the season over, the wide receiver’s name has shown up in trade proposals. One of the latest would send him to an AFC West looking to elevate their game after a tumultuous campaign.
AJ Brown Joins Los Angeles Chargers In Blockbuster Trade Proposal
Alex Ballantine of Bleacher Report named Brown a potential trade target for the Los Angeles Chargers. In exchange, the Chargers would send former first-round pick Quentin Johnston to Philadelphia.
“The same could be said for wide receiver. Right now, it’s low on the list of priorities, but if AJ Brown is on the way out then it becomes a position that could be targeted. The Eagles would probably want to avoid targeting an expensive player, but Quentin Johnston could be fairly cheap entering the final year of his rookie contract,” Ballantine wrote.
After two complex seasons, Johnston found a footing in 2025. He caught 51 passes for 735 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games. His dropping issues are no longer there, and the Eagles could have a pair of safe hands to replace Brown’s.
On the other hand, the former Tennessee Titans wide receiver caught 78 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. The Chargers’ running game isn’t as strong as the Eagles’, which would give him more chances to shine.
