AJ Brown remains a popular topic in the NFL, months into the 2026 offseason. He has been linked with a trade away from the Philadelphia Eagles since the middle of the 2025 season, and it seems that the day is closer.
Three teams reportedly joined the race for the veteran wide receiver: The New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs.
On Sunday, a day before June 1, an important date for any potential trade, Brown made a notable decision. He deactivated his X account.

This could mean anything, but it’s easy to imagine this is the ultimate sign that he’s out of the Eagles.
Philadelphia Eagles Linked With Stefon Diggs As AJ Brown Replacement

As June 2 draws closer, the Eagles are more likely to move Brown away. The NFC East team could land Stefon Diggs to replace Brown, Sayre Bedinger of FanSided wrote.
“Diggs, for all his faults, just helped the New England Patriots reach the Super Bowl and was one of the most consistent receivers in the game last year,” Bedinger wrote. “He is an asset on the field, and with his off-field issues piling up, a team like the Eagles might even be able to get him at a discounted rate.”
Diggs last played for the Patriots in the 2025 season. After a disagreement over his contract, the Patriots released him. Diggs played 17 games last year, catching 85 passes for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns.
