Ben Johnson is in his first season as the Chicago Bears head coach, but he’s already played Matt LaFleur three times. And he’s beaten him twice. 

The rookie HC oversaw another crazy win from behind on Saturday night, with the Bears now well and truly the NFL’s Comeback Kings. 

Johnson’s handshake with LaFleur came under scrutiny after the win, with one account highlighting all three so far.

“Those mfers hate each other and I love it,” one fan wrote in the comments.

Another suggested that “Ben Johnson is one cold cat.”

“Ben said see you mofo,” said a third.

One comment read, “0 love lost between em, you can tell Ben Johnson hates LaFleur and vice versa. Need more of this in the NFL, straight rivalries and hatred. Bears own the Packers now.”

Ben Johnson Embraces Bears’ New Identity

Johnson notched his first playoff win as a head coach with the comeback against Green Bay on Saturday. He has embraced his team’s identity as rally merchants, suggesting it can continue to work. 

“I think it’s our identity here at this point,” he said, per ESPN. “Some people say it’s not sustainable. I don’t know. The takeaways, that’s who we are on defense; and on offense, it’s explosive plays. That’s kind of what we’ve done all year long and coming up in big moments.” 

“As a team, it’s just resiliency and knowing that late in the fourth quarter, that’s really when we’re at our best as a football team,” he added.

Meanwhile, it’s rumored that LaFleur could be in danger of losing his job following the Wild Card collapse.
