Aside from dominating on the football field and giving the Detroit Lions the best possible chance of winning, star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown also has a bright future as a jokester. If he wishes to enter a career in comedy.

Amon-Ra St. Brown earned his fourth straight Pro Bowl nod this year after catching 117 passes for 1,401 yards and 11 touchdowns. Despite his efforts, Detroit finished with a disappointing 9-8 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2022.

If there’s something positive for Lions fans to take away? The locker room appears to be very tight, considering how much fun St. Brown and the veterans had with the 2025 rookie class.

Speaking to Kory Woods of MLive.com, Lions wide receiver Isaac Tesla shared the hilarious prank that St. Brown performed on him and fellow rookie WR Dominic Lovett. The two rookies took the Lions’ veteran receivers out to dinner at the Sexy Steak restaurant:

“Well, we got our food or whatever, and then obviously Saint’s (Amon-Ra St. Brown) ordering whatever he wants, asking the server what’s the most expensive thing you got. And so then they bring out the bill, and it says $41,000. And me, Dom, and Meeks are looking around at each other like, ‘How are we going to cover this? We’re going to have to call our credit card companies and let them know there’s going to be this huge charge.’

“And so they take our cards, and we’re just sitting there sweating, going like this. Then they bring it back. It’s only like $4,000, so it wasn’t that bad at all. So St. Brown pulled the prank on us.”

Here’s an image of the fake bill that the rookies initially thought they were paying:

Perhaps Tesla and Lovett will perform a similar prank on the Lions’ 2026 rookies?

Amon-Ra St. Brown & Lions Should Bounce Back In 2026

The frustrating 2025 season prompted head coach Dan Campbell to fire offensive coordinator John Morton. The move was a mild surprise. The Lions finished with the league’s fourth-best scoring offense (28.3 points per game).

Detroit also had a very tricky schedule this season. But finishing third in the NFC North means a more manageable slate of games. The Chicago Bears, who won the division with an 11-6 record, were swept by the Lions this year. The gap is small.

With an easier schedule and a few roster upgrades, the Lions should re-emerge as championship contenders in 2025. Campbell’s group is too talented to underachieve like this again.
