The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the most iconic stadiums in the NFL, Arrowhead Stadium. The team has had its most successful era at the venue, but that won’t last much longer.

Earlier this offseason, the Chiefs got the green light for a reported $3 billion future stadium project. They will leave Arrowhead at the start of the next decade and will move to Wyandotte County, Kansas.

Meanwhile, their current stadium will experience significant changes. It won’t be related to the team’s relocation, but to a special event.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is less than a month away from its beginning. The organization requires venues to change their names for the duration of the tournament.

Staffers removed the GEHA Field-sponsored signage from the stadium, as FIFA requires all non-World Cup sponsors to be hidden.

Additionally, crews removed around 3,500 seats along the north sideline to create space for a regulation soccer field.

Arrowhead Stadium will host six World Cup games: four group-stage games, one Round of 32 match, and a quarterfinal.
