The Baltimore Ravens have announced the signing of a new head coach following John Harbaugh’s departure.
The Ravens have hired Jessee Minter, who was previously the defensive coordinator under Harbaugh’s brother Jim in Los Angeles.
The 42-year-old agreed on terms to become the team’s new head coach a day after his second interview.
“I am truly honored to serve as the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens,” he said, per the Ravens’ official website. “This is an organization whose values, culture and tradition of excellence reflect everything I believe about the game of football and how it should be played.”
He joins the team following Lamar Jackson’s strong endorsement of Kliff Kingsbury.
Jesse Minter Was A Wanted Man In This Cycle

Minter was one of the more sought-after coaches amid the current hiring cycle. He had two interviews with the Las Vegas Raiders and had a second one scheduled with the Cleveland Browns, which he canceled.
“Jesse is a strong leader who possesses a brilliant football mind and a spirit that will resonate with our players and fanbase alike,” General Manager Eric DeCosta remarked. “Jesse comes from a football family, with success at every level of the sport, and we are confident that he is the right coach to lead the Ravens forward.”
Minter served as a defensive assistant and a defensive backs coach with the Ravens in 2019 and 2020. Therefore, he’s worked under both Harbaugh brothers.
He’s now set to lead a team as a head coach for the first time in his career.
We wish him the best.
