Chicago Bears linebacker TJ Edwards was carted off against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night.
The NFC North rivals faced off in the second game of this weekend’s Wild Card round, and it appears the Bears will have the more difficult time of the two.
The Bears have also had to deal with a serious injury in the second quarter. Edwards was unfortunate to have his foot get in the way while Packers wide receiver Christian Watson ran past him. The contact forced his ankle to snap awkwardly.
You can see the gutwrenching moment below:
Edwards had his left leg placed in an air cast before being carted off the field.
The injury comes as a massive blow to the Bears, who won the division this season but have been the poorer side tonight.
They were yet to get into the end zone at the time of writing and were trailing Green Bay 21-3 heading into halftime.
Meanwhile, what was tipped to be a snow game has disappointed in that regard. But the players did give fans some drama before kickoff, with things getting chippy between the teams.
