Izzy Nix, the wife of Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, is sharing the heartbreaking moment of her husband finding out the bad news. She shared a behind-the-scenes look at the aftermath of the news of the quarterback’s season-ending ankle injury.

Nix suffered a broken bone in his ankle that will require surgery and end his season. Bo came down with the issue in the overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round on Saturday.

“I snuck this picture because I wanted to remember this moment forever,” Izzy wrote on her Instagram story.

“The joy, followed by the heartbreak, followed by watching each teammate and coach come to this little corner and sit by Bo’s side. God could have placed us anywhere, and I’m so grateful He chose Denver. He is the perfect Author of Bo’s story and we cannot wait to see what He has in store for this team — We’ll be on the front row, cheering the loudest!!! 🧡”

Izzy Nix also shared a Bible verse, 2 Corinthians 4:16-17. The picture she shared showed Bo Nix sitting on the floor. He was surrounded by fellow quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger, his dad, and others.

She married Nix in 2022, two years before the Broncos selected him with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The couple announced in October that they’re expecting their first child.

On Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Broncos are signing Ben DiNucci to their practice squad. As sad as they want to be about Nix, they have to move on and get ready for the most important game of the year.

Ben DiNucci will be the emergency third-string quarterback behind Stidham and Sam Ehlinger. A former seventh-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2020, DiNucci has only appeared in three games during his career. DiNucci also had a stint in the XFL in 2023. He completed 64.7% of his passes for 2,671 yards and 20 touchdowns to 13 interceptions.

Jarrett Stidham is starting the next game, so the work he will put in this week will be extensive.

Prior to the injury revelation, Nix went 26-for-46 with 279 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.

The AFC title game gets underway in Denver on Sunday at 3 p.m.
