Authorities have found the California man who went missing after he went to a Super Bowl party in early February – unfortunately, not alive.
The body of the male, identified as Thomas Simpkins, was located near this year’s Super Bowl venue, Levi’s Stadium.
His family revealed his passing via GoFundMe.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Tommy,” their statement reads. “He was a deeply loved son, brother, husband, father, and friend. His kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family touched everyone who knew him.”
Simpkins was 44.
He reportedly attended a barbecue at a friend’s house in San Jose. Authorities believe he left the get-together alive.
Panic set in after he failed to show up for work the following day. His 19-year-old son later reported him missing.
Thomas Simpkins’ Sister Lashes Out At The Authorities After Super Bowl Tragedy

Police found Simpkins’ body in the San Tomas Quino Creek near Levi’s Stadium.
His sister, Brandi Stroud, suggests her brother’s death may have resulted from foul play.
“When he got home, we have no idea who picked him up or how he got all the way to Levi’s Stadium,” she told NBC Bay Area. “I don’t believe that my brother just decided to throw himself into a creek. I don’t have any answers when it comes down to really what happened to him.”
She also told the San Francisco Chronicle that the authorities did not treat the missing report with any urgency.
The San Jose Police Department has denied this.
“We understand how incredibly difficult and emotional this situation is for the family. When a loved one is missing, every moment feels critical, and we recognize the fear and frustration that can come with that uncertainty,” the department said.
“At no point was this case dismissed or ignored,” they added.
The family had reached $12,575 of their $14,000 GoFundMe target at the time of writing. You can make a donation here.
