Boston Bar Is Fighting For Its Life After New England Patriots Players Brought Strippers & Drugs To Private, Illegal Party

A Boston bar owner is fighting to keep his license after hosting New England Patriots players back in January.
The Patriots were in a rowdy mood after defeating the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game on January 25th, claiming a 10-7 victory that set them on their way to the Super Bowl.
They would fall short in the big game, with the Seattle Seahawks proving too formidable to overcome.
The franchise has since cut one of the key contributors to its run, Stefon Diggs, who reportedly rejected a contract restructure proposal.
Meanwhile, one bar has been left to deal with the fallout of the raunchy festivities that followed the penultimate contest.
According to NBC10 Boston, a bar owner has claimed he is in trouble with the law after multiple team members piled into his establishment for a late-night celebration.
Police were summoned to Estella on Temple Place via a noise complaint around 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27. They would find a private party in the basement.
“Officers noted that people were drinking and they smelled marijuana,” the report notes.
“They said security briefly blocked their access on the stairs and that several women who were nude or wearing bikinis ran toward the kitchen area. Officers also noticed several large hookahs in the room,” it adds.
The police report states that, “Upon checking downstairs, where the party was, the sergeant observed no less than six large hookahs which appeared to be concealed underneath tables. The floor was covered with $1 bills and the liquor was mostly full on top of the tables.”
The authorities issued a license premise inspection for “after-hours liquor sales, unauthorized entertainment and indoor smoking.”
Bar Owner Takes Full Responsibility After New England Patriots Party With Strippers

The license in question permitted the owner to host events up until 2:00 a.m.
A hearing before the Mayor’s Office of Consumer Affairs and Licensing on Friday saw owner Helder George Brandao reveal that the private party involved members of the Patriots.
He said they claimed they brought their own drinks and entertainment when he asked them to wrap things up.
“I did spend 38 minutes yesterday reviewing body cam footage and I’m greatly concerned you had some unauthorized entertainment,” Executive Director of Consumer Affairs and Licensing Kathleen Joyce said during the hearing.
“We accept full responsibility for this matter. We are currently conducting an internal review to ensure this does not happen again,” Brandao told the outlet. “We have no further statement at this time while we focus on our resolution efforts.”
NBC10 Boston contacted the Patriots for comment, but did not hear back.
The Boston Licensing Board was scheduled to make a decision on this Thursday.
