Brett Favre was not in favor of the NFL’s decision to have Bad Bunny headline the Halftime Show at Super Bowl 60 earlier this month. And the former Green Bay Packers star has ripped the league over it.

Two weeks have gone by since the Puerto Rican’s performance. However, it continues to dominate debates over whether or not the league should have gone with something more “American.”

Favre reckons there’s been a change in the way the NFL chooses to engage and entertain its audiences. He suggested that the league no longer cares about its “true fans.”

“I think there probably is some truth to that. Why that has changed, I really don’t know. Because I think your general football audience is people like you and I. Maybe loves football, or maybe is a casual, fair-weather fan, but it is the biggest show in town. So you watch it, you know, you watch the halftime show and who sang the national anthem. You know, that’s been that way for a long time,” he told Tomi Lahren during a recent podcast appearance (H/T Fox News Digital).

“But you’re right, you know, in the last maybe 10 years, maybe a little longer, there’s been a slight shift,” he continued.“For whatever reason, I have no idea, because you want to appeal to your true fans. And it doesn’t seem like that is the case anymore.”

The NFL, Roc Nation, Apple Music and Bad Bunny were all heavily criticized over their decision to feature Bad Bunny. Still, the show was the most-watched in league history, averaging a record 128.2 million viewers on NBC.

Meanwhile, the artist and the network have been cleared by the FCC following claims that they violated broadcast laws with vulgar Spanish lyrics.

The agency has concluded that there was no contravention.
