Browns Legend Joe Thomas Unleashes Savage Clapback at Baker Mayfield Over Explosive Beef with Kevin Stefanski

Baker Mayfield and Joe Thomas were teammates on the Cleveland Browns for one season. Thomas served as a veteran mentor to Mayfield, who was the #1 overall pick.
Kevin Stefanski would be hired as head coach for the 2020 season. Mayfield played for Stefanski at the Cleveland Browns before he was traded to the Carolina Panthers in 2022. The two are now major figures in the NFC South after Atlanta hired Stefanski as head coach on Saturday.
That past trade came up this week by the current Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback. Mayfield threw down the gauntlet Tuesday night to his old Browns foe Kevin Stefanski. In response to an X post by D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Mayfield called out Stefanski over his behavior after he was traded.
“Falcons’ Kevin Stefanski had a dumpster fire at quarterback in Cleveland — Baker Mayfield and Deshaun Watson failed, which started a chain reaction to 11 other starters. QB Shedeur Sanders closed out last season with seven starts,” Ledbetter posted. About an hour later, Baker Mayfield reposted it with a telling response.
“Failed is quite the reach, pal,” he wrote. “Still waiting on a text/call from him after I got shipped off like a piece of garbage. Can’t wait to see you twice a year, Coach.”
Joe Brown Says Baker Mayfield Could’ve Reached Out

Stefanski and Mayfield flourished in their first season together. Baker Mayfield threw for 3,563 yards, with 26 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. He went 11-5 and led the Browns to a wild-card berth and victory. Things only got worse from there.
Things unraveled in 2021. The Browns would eventually trade for Deshaun Watson, and Mayfield’s career there was done. Now he is ready for payback since he never got a call once he traded to the Panthers.
The drama continued when Cleveland legend and Hall of Famer Joe Thomas weighed in. He told Baker that communication is a two-way street. Thomas added that he could’ve called or texted Stefanski after he was traded.
I could be wrong…but I’ve heard that communication is a 2-way street and there were no laws against you (Baker) sending Stefanski a text or calling him after you got traded🧐 https://t.co/y7hI6zptax

Mayfield has since been rejuvenated with the Bucs, where he appears ot be much happier.
