Cam Skattebo sparked a training camp scuffle during a New York Giants practice by sliding dangerously close to defensive backs’ legs during a non-contact drill.

First, Skattebo caught a pass during a team period and slid to the ground. However, his slide came way too close to the legs of several defenders. Stuff like that can cause unnecessary injuries.

Skattebo Gets Approached By Teammates

Because the defense was not allowed to hit during this drill, the defenders felt the play unnecessarily put them at risk. As a result, defensive backs Jevon Holland and Greg Newsome got visibly upset with the running back.

Then the verbal frustration quickly escalated into a heated on-field scuffle that directly involved Skattebo and Newsome.

Furthermore, insiders noted that this tension had been building up. That is because Cam Skattebo frequently talks trash and plays overly physical, such as running over a linebacker earlier in the week.

Consequently, head coach John Harbaugh later addressed Skattebo’s fiery behavior.

He noted that he also drew a 15-yard penalty and a warning that this type of intense energy can spread negatively through the team.
