Cam Skattebo’s Mother Unleashes Message For Anyone Who Has a Problem With His Wild ‘CTE’ Claims

Cam Skattebo’s mother has come to his defense amid ongoing criticism for his comments about Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
Last week, Cam Skattebo claimed that CTE isn’t “real”, but rather “an excuse” on the “Bring the Juice” podcast. Skattebo’s comments raised controversy because of a) the insensitive nature and b) the fact that CTE is a scientifically proven degenerative brain disease.
Skattebo later apologized with a statement on X/Twitter, claiming he “had a lapse in judgment.”
I recently did an interview and had a lapse in judgment, which resulted in me making a tasteless joke about CTE and asthma. It was never my intention to downplay the seriousness of head injuries or asthma. I sincerely apologize to anyone that was offended by my remarks, and I…

Becky Skattebo also came to her son’s defense, noting that his CTE comments were clearly not to be taken seriously and meant to be humorous:
If only people knew how many times cam had to “run and get mom’s inhaler” they’d realize the sarcasm…you’ll never make everyone happy and you’ll never say all the right things and people are bound to spin something sooner or later in a direction it was never intended to go. 🤷🏼♀️ https://t.co/vQmwFpLOOk

In 2002, Dr. Bennet Omalu determined that Pittsburgh Steelers legend Mike Webster had CTE after his death in 2002. Webster, who was only 50 when he died unexpectedly, became the first NFL player diagnosed with CTE.
The disease can only be positively diagnosed after death during an autopsy. Researchers have discovered CTE in 345 former NFL players.
Cam Skattebo Looks To Build Off Promising Rookie Season Cut Short By Injury

Skattebo showed flashes in his rookie season, rushing for 410 yards and five touchdowns in eight games. Unfortunately, Skattebo’s season ended when he suffered a gruesome dislocated ankle injury in a game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Giants had also lost superstar wideout Malik Nabers for the season with a torn ACL in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite the onslaught of injuries, rookie QB Jaxson Dart turned in a stellar campaign with 15 touchdowns and just five interceptions in 14 games.
New York has a promising offensive nucleus led by Dart, Nabers and Skattebo. They will be able to further upgrade the roster during the draft. Indeed, the future is quickly looking brighter than ever in the Meadowlands.
