While the NFL and NBA are different sports, they are intertwined in some ways. No, not directly, though. For example, Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker kicked off the annual NFL-NBA connection this year when he dropped a bomb in the comment section of Kendall Jenner’s IG story, which was football-related.

No doubt that most NBA guys follow the NFL. It is the undisputed top sport in America. And with the Super Bowl being played in San Francisco, celebrities inevitably flocked to the game. Now, Cavs star Donovan Mitchell has also established his connection to the NFL. But this time, he was there to support his fiancée, singer-songwriter and actress Coco Jones, who performed a powerful rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” before the big game.

After Jones’ moving performance, Donovan Mitchell quickly went to his fiancée’s side and gave her a quick kiss, as shared by Yahoo Sports on X.

Kudos to Mitchell for showing everybody that he’s truly in love. The cute couple started dating in 2023 after meeting at a creative event. They kept their relationship mostly secret, formally announcing it after their engagement in July 2025. Coco Jones is also the daughter of former NFL defensive lineman Mike Jones.

As for the result of Super Bowl LX? The Seattle Seahawks outclassed the New England Patriots, 29-13.

While Mitchell is in San Francisco watching the big game, his focus is apparently left in Cleveland, Ohio. After his team traded away Darius Garland in exchange for veteran star James Harden, Mitchell was pumped up about the move.

“Our ceiling is definitely higher when you have a guy like James Harden. He brings scoring, playmaking, and experience from playoff games and the NBA Finals. Our goal is to try to get it done now,” Donovan Mitchell said via TalkBasket.

It’s important to note that Mitchell hasn’t made any Conference Finals yet in his career. Will this be the year that he finally gets to the next stage? He sure hopes so after Harden’s addition.
