Cincinnati Bengals Have Reportedly Made Their Decision On Joe Burrow Trade

The Cincinnati Bengals have reportedly already made a decision on whether they’ll trade superstar quarterback Joe Burrow.
In December, the Bengals’ franchise star turned heads when he was asked about the possibility of playing elsewhere. Responding to a reporter’s question, Joe Burrow said, “You think about a lot of things.”
There have also been reports that the Minnesota Vikings may pursue a blockbuster trade for Burrow. But unsurprisingly, there are no plans for Bengals de facto GM Duke Tobin to trade the Pro Bowl signal-caller.
According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Bengals aren’t shopping the No. 1 pick of the 2020 NFL Draft:
“Despite the hopes and dreams of Minnesota Vikings fans, the Cincinnati Bengals have no intention of trading Joe Burrow — to Minnesota or anywhere else. As for Burrow’s overall happiness? Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase told me he isn’t worried about Burrow’s future, despite late-season speculation after another missed playoff opportunity.”
Russini did add that Minnesota “will be looking to bring on a veteran quarterback after a disappointing 2025 season at the position.” There is speculation that they could reunite with Kirk Cousins, whom the Atlanta Falcons will likely cut or release in the offseason.
So breathe, Bengals fans.
Bengals Are Under Pressure To Build A Winner Around Burrow

The Bengals reached consecutive AFC Championships (2021 and 2022) early in Burrow’s career. They were also a few plays away from winning Super Bowl 56 over the Los Angeles Rams.
But things have gone downhill since. Cincinnati has missed the playoffs in three straight years. That’s largely thanks to a terrible offensive line and an atrocious defense. Such is life when owner Mike Brown won’t spend much funny in free agency.
If the Bengals miss the playoffs again in 2026, nobody should blame Burrow if he ultimately requests a trade. This team has had more than enough time to build a long-term winner around him, after all.
