If the Dallas-Fort Worth area has any companies that specialize in home security against animals, they should contact Brian Schottenheimer as soon as possible.

Last month, Brian Schottenheimer’s wife, Gemmi, revealed on Instagram that their home had been invaded by an owl. Gemmi posted footage of the chaotic scene on Instagram, and an animal control worker arrived to remove the owl from the home.

Oddly, that incident came just weeks after two of the Schottenheimer family’s dogs were bitten by snakes. The dogs received treatment at a local veterinary clinic and, thankfully, had safe recoveries.

Unfortunately for the Dallas Cowboys’ head coach and his family, the owl incident wouldn’t be their last terrifying animal home invasion of 2025. On Instagram, Gemmi Schottenheimer revealed that their home was invaded again, this time by a bunch of wasps:

We’re not animal control experts here, but maybe Brian Schottenheimer should put some of those millions in his bank account toward enhanced security measures to keep these creatures out of their home.

If the Cowboys are to recover from a sluggish first half and make a run at the postseason, the turnaround has to start now. At 3-5-1, they can probably afford one more loss at most to sneak into the playoffs.

Owner Jerry Jones obviously isn’t ready to give up on the season, having acquired All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and linebacker Logan Wilson in separate deals at the trade deadline.

While Dallas’ defense has been a disaster, Schottenheimer has at least unlocked the potential of this offense. Per Pro Football Reference, the Cowboys enter tonight’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders with the No. 3 scoring offense, averaging 29.2 points per game.

The offense hasn’t been an issue in Dallas whatsoever. If they’re going to turn things around, the revamped defense better show improvement, beginning tonight.
