Tensions flared during a high school flag football game between Gainesville and Carver-Columbus this week, with emotions spilling over into an on-field brawl.
Gainesville’s playoff game in Georgia needed to be stopped due to a fight for the second time in two weeks. The first time around, it was the boys’ tackle team; the girls’ flag team followed suit on Thursday, resulting in a scene as shocking as a recent referee meltdown that saw shoes come off.
They played Carver-Columbus on the day in a game that ended in the third quarter.
Carver’s quarterback was making a scramble when a Gainesville player got a hard block and pushed her opponent.
This resulted in punches being thrown and the entire Tigers bench storming the field to join the action.
The Red Elephants would win via forfeit, having remained on the sideline as one bench cleared.
Flag Football Game Ends After One Team Gets Most Of Its Roster Kicked Out

As noted above, Gainesville wisely stayed put, unlike their male counterparts, who had done the opposite two weeks prior and were all suspended.

They only lost four players, while Carver lost most of theirs to ejections.
Officials handed them the W because the Tigers did not have enough of a roster to continue the game, which left them clear to advance to the third round of the Division I State Playoffs.
