Dak Prescott has stayed quiet in public, but people close to him say he is having a tough time after his wedding to Sarah Jane Ramos was suddenly called off just weeks before the date.
The couple, both 32, had planned a big wedding in Lake Como, Italy on April 10. But they canceled it in March after Ramos reportedly found out that Prescott had been messaging other women using anonymous social media accounts. The news shocked friends and family, especially since they had just celebrated their bachelor and bachelorette trip together in the Bahamas.
Since then, neither Prescott nor Ramos has directly addressed the breakup. Still, a source close to them told reporters that both feel overwhelmed. “For Dak and Sarah, everything feels a bit surreal,” the source said. “They’re both still processing the emotions of what was supposed to be their wedding just days away.”
Friends continue to check in, but the situation remains tense. The former couple shares two young daughters, Margaret, 2, and Aurora, 10 months. That connection keeps them in close contact despite the breakup.
Friends Worry As Emotions Remain Raw

People close to Prescott and Ramos say they have not fully dealt with the split yet. “They are doing everything else to not focus on their relationship fully being over,” the source said. “They are holding up OK, but they have yet to fully deal with it all head on.”
Reports say both have agreed to work toward a temporary custody arrangement. According to TMZ, Prescott filed a legal request in Texas on March 17 asking for joint managing conservatorship of their children.
Prescott’s attorney, Levi G. McCathern II, confirmed that both sides want to avoid court for now. “The case is not resolved, but the parties have agreed to postpone the first hearing in an attempt to work out all of the various issues without court intervention,” he told Page Six. He added, “Dak is looking forward to working with Sarah Jane to develop a healthy co-parent relationship and do what is in the best interests of his children.”
Despite that effort, friends remain concerned. They believe delaying tough conversations may make things harder. “The longer they stretch it out, it is not going to be something beneficial for them or their kids,” the source said.
Some reports also suggest Ramos had doubts about their future even before the breakup. A source told the Daily Mail that she feared a difficult marriage and chose her well-being.
For now, both continue to take things day by day. As their wedding date approaches, emotions remain fresh. Friends say the coming days will be especially tough as reality sets in.
Prescott proposed to Ramos in October 2024, seven months after the birth of their first daughter, MJ. The couple welcomed their second daughter, Aurora Rayne, in May 2025. Prescott made the proposal after signing a $240 million contract extension that will keep him in Dallas through 2028.
