Dak Prescott spent the Father’s Day weekend celebrating a close friend rather than taking a family trip or vacation.
A new photo from Jake Ferguson’s wedding showed Prescott standing beside his teammate as one of the groomsmen. The picture caught fans’ attention because it offered a glimpse into Prescott’s personal life just a few months after he reportedly called off his own wedding plans.
Ferguson married his longtime girlfriend, Haley Cavinder, a former Miami Hurricanes basketball player and social media personality. Ferguson shared photos from the wedding on Instagram, and Prescott appeared as part of the wedding party. Fellow Cowboys tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford was also part of the group.
Sports reporter Clarence Hill highlighted Prescott’s appearance in a post on X on June 23.
“For those wondering where Cowboys QB Dak Prescott jetted off to on Fathers Day weekend,” Hill wrote. “He was a groomsman in Jake Ferguson’s wedding along with tight end Brevyn Spann Ford. Brotherhood.”
The photos gave fans a look at Prescott’s offseason and showed the strong friendships he has built with his teammates on the Dallas Cowboys.
Prescott Moves Forward After Wedding Cancellation

The wedding appearance comes several months after Prescott and his former fiancee Sarah Jane Ramos canceled their own wedding plans.

The couple had scheduled their wedding for April 10 in Lake Como, Italy. However, they informed guests in March that they would not move forward with the ceremony.

“As many of you know, our wedding is currently scheduled to take place in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday April 10, 2026,” the email stated, according to TMZ. “It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding.”
“We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers.”
Reports later indicated that Prescott and Ramos reached the decision together. Ramos’ representative told People that no major dispute led to the split.
“There wasn’t any rockiness in the lead up, and there was no big argument or blow up,” the representative said.
“It was a mutual decision. They love their girls, and they’re committed to raising their children together in the most loving and positive way.”
Despite the personal change, Prescott continues to enjoy strong relationships within the Cowboys locker room. His appearance at Ferguson’s wedding reflected that connection.
Prescott has often praised Ferguson during their time together in Dallas. Speaking in 2023, the quarterback described the tight end as a player he trusts.
“Hell of a player. Confidence is through the roof with him,” Prescott said. “He’s a fun guy to play with.”

While his own wedding plans changed earlier this year, he spent the holiday weekend celebrating a teammate’s big moment and showing support for a close friend.
