Dallas Cowboys Credited With The Biggest Steal Of The NFL Offseason

The Dallas Cowboys had a disappointing 2025 NFL season. The NFC East team had one of the most powerful offenses but also one of the worst defenses in the league.
Defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus only lasted one season. They replaced him with Christian Parker, a highly touted coach on the Philadelphia Eagles. Additionally, they added several players to improve the defense.
Safety Jalen Thompson arrived from the Cardinals on a three-year deal, while Derrion Kendrick joined from the Los Angeles Rams on a one-year deal. They also traded for edge rusher Rashan Gary, putting together a solid group.
More than that, one overlooked signing could be the difference-maker for Dallas in 2026.
Dallas Cowboys Praised For Signing Veteran Rams CB

On Friday, Eric Williams on Fox Sports praised the Cowboys for making one of the best under-the-radar signings of the offseason. They added Cobie Durant from the Rams on a one-year deal.
“A versatile, playmaking cornerback who mostly fills a need as a slot defender, Durant will not only be an upgrade to the Cowboys’ secondary, but he’ll improve the backend of their defense on a pretty valuable contract. Dallas signed Durant to a team-friendly deal that includes $1.5 million in guaranteed money. Durant has seven career interceptions, including two returned for four touchdowns in four NFL seasons,” Williams wrote.
The analyst added that Durant’s impact could make it easier for Christian Parker to establish his scheme. The addition of Thompson adds more experience to the Cowboys’ secondary.
Amid rumors suggesting they could still go for Maxx Crosby, Dallas appears to be in a good position to compete.
