George Pickens’ future has been a source of speculation around the league. Coming off the best season of his NFL career, the young wide receiver has drawn plenty of attention ahead of the 2026 free agency. The former Pittsburgh Steelers WR caught 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Cowboys identified Pickens and running back Javonte Williams as their top priorities this offseason. Despite Jerry Jones’ ambiguous messages, Dallas appears eager to keep at least one of them beyond the 2025 campaign.

With trade rumors swirling amid a potential franchise tag scenario, Dan Graziano of ESPN (via Cowboys reporter Brandon Loree) proposed a trade in which the Cowboys sent Pickens and the 2026 No. 20 pick to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for defensive end Maxx Crosby and the 2026 No. 36 pick.

Cowboys fans made it clear they don’t want to see Pickens leave, let alone in exchange for Crosby, who is older than him and has a long history of injuries.

“Stop the Pickens trade proposals You trade him and you are taking 10 steps back, the offense is ready now. Use the two 1st round picks for the defense,” one fan said.

“It’s not worth entertaining at all. You don’t trade a guy like Pickens. It’s idiotic to even think about. Keep Pickens and pick up Hendrickson in FA,” another fan said.

“Im sorry but if I am trading pickens and picks for an edge I am doing so for Myles Garrett who is superior. Not that Cleveland would trade him, but if we’re overpaying for a player thats who im overpaying for,” another fan wrote.

“Can we stop with trading Pickens for Crosby already! It’s really annoying! The cowboys aren’t going to weaken a spot of strength for a position they traded last year. By doing so will give the notion it was a mistake. Now they should trade a Pick just not Pickens,” another fan asked.

“Love how every trade I see proposed is in the best interest of the other team. No way do I do this trade. I feel like Crosby is highly overrated if you think its going to take a top WR and a 1st round pick for him. Rather keep Pickens and use that pick for the defense,” another fan added.

“Stop trying to get rid of GP he is far more valuable because of his age being only 25 yrs old give him the same deal as CD and lets move on! Go sign Bradley Chubb or Jaelen Phillips and stop big name hunting offense is too good all they need is a middle of the pack defense,” another fan said.

Pickens became one of the best offseason additions last campaign. He unlocked his potential under Brian Schottenheimer, and if the Cowboys keep him on the roster, they could be a serious threat in 2026.
