Dallas Cowboys’ Offer For Maxx Crosby Leaked – It’s Exactly Why They Struggle To Contend

The Dallas Cowboys woke up on Friday as the frontrunner to land Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders. The NFC East team reportedly neared a deal with the AFC West franchise on Wednesday before other teams stepped in to let the Raiders know they were willing to beat the Cowboys’ offer.
The Baltimore Ravens were mentioned as another team to monitor in the Crosby sweepstakes. In the end, they pulled the trigger and sent two first-rounders to Las Vegas in exchange for Crosby.
With Jesse Minter taking over as head coach, adding a defensive specialist like Crosby is a game-changing move. The Ravens missed the 2025 NFL playoffs, and their defense needed some work. On the other hand, the Cowboys will have to turn their attention to another player.
NFL Insider Reveals Dallas Cowboys Offer For Maxx Crosby

The Dallas Cowboys looked poised to land Crosby, one of the best pass rushers in the league, to improve one of the worst defenses in the league last season. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that they were adamant about including two first-round picks in their offer.
“The Cowboys were willing to offer a first- and second-round pick to the Raiders for Maxx Crosby but, logically and understandably, Las Vegas opted for the two first-round picks from the Ravens,” Schefter wrote on Friday.

Before that, it was reported that they offered the No. 12 pick in 2026, a future second-rounder, and pass rusher Osa Odighizuwa in exchange for the defensive end. The Ravens included two first-rounders and won the bidding war. Their No. 14 pick in 2026 and the first-round selection in 2027 now belong to the Raiders.
The Cowboys also hold the No. 20 pick this year.
