The Dallas Cowboys, uncharacteristically, have been a busy team at the start of the 2026 NFL offseason. The Lone Star appears to be set on what to do with George Pickens after the wide receiver posted the best season of his career in 2025.

Additionally, they retained running back Javonte Williams on a three-year, $24 million deal. It seems that they are on track to keep their best offensive players from 2024 on the roster, but that would not be the end for the NFC East franchise.

Free agency and the draft are drawing closer, and the Cowboys will have more chances to strengthen the roster. Meanwhile, they continue to keep their best players to compete in 2026. One of their most reliable stars could sign a big contract soon, but the number remains a question mark.

Dallas Cowboys To Make Brandon Aubrey The Highest-Paid Kicker In The NFL

Todd Archer of ESPN reported on Tuesday that the Cowboys and Brandon Aubrey’s agent agree that the place kicker should be the highest-paid player in his position. However, they haven’t reached a common ground on his annual salary.

“The Cowboys have offered a deal for Aubrey that is more than the league-high $6.4 million average per season for Kansas City’s Harrison Butker, sources told ESPN. However, Aubrey’s agent, Todd France, has asked for a deal closer to $10 million per season, according to sources,” Archer wrote.

Aubrey is set to become a free agent. Dallas would place the second-round tender on him at around $5.8 million. He has become one of the best in his position. Still, the Cowboys could end up losing him over this number.
