Dallas Cowboys Steal New Coach From The Philadelphia Eagles With Sneaky Move

The Philadelphia Eagles are having a hard enough time hiring a new offensive coordinator. And now, they’re set to lose one of their top coaches to their bitter NFC East rivals.
Top OC candidates Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll have rejected the opportunity to join the Eagles. McDaniel has taken the OC job with the Los Angeles Chargers, while Daboll is keen on the Buffalo Bills’ head coach opening.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys have announced that they’re hiring Philly’s defensive passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach Christian Parker.
Parker has agreed to join the Cowboys as their new defensive coordinator, though the deal is not official yet. He would become the first Dallas DC hire since 2014 who has no NFL head coaching experience.
Parker has been with the Eagles for the past two seasons. The 34-year-old began his NFL coaching career as a defensive quality assistant with the Green Bay Packers in 2019. He was the defensive backs coach for the Denver Broncos from 2021 to 2023.
Parker was a candidate for the DC job in Green Bay and was one of three candidates to interview in person with the Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys Troll Philadelphia Eagles As They Steal Their Coach

The Cowboys fired defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus earlier this month after one season.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said the team would “cast a wide net of candidates and find someone who is a great teacher (and) a great communicator.”
The Cowboys are now gloating over the soon-to-be acquisition, noting they’ve killed two birds with one stone (pun intended) in going for Parker.
“Sometimes you have to go behind enemy lines to find the solution to a problem, and Schottenheimer is clearly unafraid of that reality,” the team announced via their official website.
They added:
“In seeking an interview with Parker, they were doing a couple of things simultaneously: potentially weakening their most bitter division rival, and plucking from the Vic Fangio coaching tree, Fangio having often given Dak Prescott fits in their matchups.”
Fangio’s defense allowed the sixth-fewest passing yards and the fewest passing touchdowns this season, with Parker an important part of his staff.
The Cowboys also reminded everyone that Parker “carries a wealth of insider information regarding the weaknesses of the Eagles’ offense.”
There’s definitely no shame in their game.
