Shedeur Sanders faced a tough moment against the Buffalo Bills. The Cleveland Browns quarterback threw an interception to Damar Hamlin. Hamlin came up with a big celebration right after. The veteran safety mocked Sanders with the signature watch celebration.

Sanders started strong in the preseason matchup. He completed his first eight passes. He capped the opening drive with a touchdown pass. The Browns led early before the Bills took control.

The interception came on a pass thrown slightly behind the tight end. The ball got tipped into the air. Hamlin hauled it in and immediately hit the watch flex. Teammates joined the celebration on the field.

Shedeur Sanders Shows Poise Despite the Turnover

Sanders finished the game 9-of-11 for 74 yards. He added one touchdown and that Hamlin interception. He played with the second-string offensive line and mostly backups. Reports praised his composure and patience in the pocket.

Coach Todd Monken shared his thoughts on Sanders’ performance, praising the second-year quarterback.

“There’s a lot to like there,” Monken said. “He plays with a certain amount of confidence. He’s gotten a lot better at getting rid of the ball.”

“I thought he did a lot of good things. I’m really proud of him and where he’s come from the moment I got here until now. Very impressive.”

Sanders continues battling Deshaun Watson for the starting job. The Bills didn’t make things easy for him this week, as they tried to get under his skin.
