A video of Joe Schoen’s daughter reading mean comments about him from New York Giants fans has gone viral.

Despite a third straight season of double-digit losses, Joe Schoen has been given a fifth season in the Giants’ general manager chair. Schoen got to fire head coach Brian Daboll after a 2-8 start midseason.

Even though the G-Men finished a woeful 4-13, ownership decided to keep Schoen. His offseason is off to a good start, though, with Big Blue hiring John Harbaugh as its next head coach.

Schoen obviously has a long list of critics from fed-up Giants fans. But his family can at least get some good laughs about the comments, which counts for something.

A viral video shows Joe Schoen’s daughter reading harsh comments about the Giants GM from her cellphone. The family obviously enjoys it, though:

At least they’re finding some humor in it. Who knows just how cruel and vicious some of those comments are.

Schoen’s first season with New York was a pleasant surprise. The Giants finished 9-6-1, then upset the NFC North champion Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round. Brian Daboll was named Coach of the Year.

But the last three years have been disastrous in New York. The team is now 22-45-1 under Schoen, per Pro Football Reference. They were 6-11 in 2023, 3-14 a year ago and 4-13 this season.

Schoen hit a home run by hiring John Harbaugh. But significant progress must be made this offseason if New York is to retain him for a sixth year. He has plenty of holes to fill, including the offensive line, wide receiver depth and the secondary.

Jaxson Dart, Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo, Abdul Carter and Andrew Thomas are a nice starting core to build around. Now, Schoen has to add more talent and show ownership he knows how to build a long-term contender.
