Super Bowl LX happens Sunday in Santa Clara, California. Drake Maye and the Patriots face Sam Darnold and the Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium. Most of America is dialed in on the matchup. Jacquees is not. The R&B singer, who shares a son with Deion Sanders’ daughter, Deiondra, posted from what appeared to be South Africa on Saturday. His location mattered less than his message about the game.

Jacquees performed his song “Let You Go” in a public space and shared the video on Saturday. His caption told the whole story. “They don’t give a DAMN about the Super Bowl over here,” he wrote. He noted the game airs at 1:30 a.m. locally and said he’s thinking about finding South African artists for a remix. Football ranked dead last on his mind.

The timing stands out because of his ties to Coach Prime. Jacquees and Deiondra had their son Snow on Aug. 9, 2024. The relationship fell apart this year after issues involving a music video with DeJ Loaf.

Jacquees picked overseas performances over watching football. His son’s grandfather had different plans for Sunday.

The quarterbacks decide everything in this game. Maye posted a league-best 113.5 passer rating during the regular season. Darnold had his best year in eight NFL seasons. Deion Sanders hit ESPN’s “First Take” on Friday with a simple breakdown.

“Whoever plays bad is gonna lose,” Sanders said. “Whichever quarterback steps up and takes that next step, they gonna win. And whoever protects the ball better.” Sanders said if both play evenly, playmakers take over. “We see who has the most playmakers. Who has the guys that have the propensity to make the plays?”

Sanders won two Super Bowls during his Hall of Fame career. He challenged this year’s stars to handle the pressure. “The last time I checked, a star shines,” he said. “So that means the pressure ain’t on the star. The star applies the pressure.”

Jacquees is halfway across the world performing while Sanders breaks down the biggest game in football. That split captures Super Bowl weekend for the extended Sanders family.
