Did Puka Nacua Secretly Serve A ‘Silent Suspension’ This Season?
This article was originally published on Total Pro Sports.

Puka Nacua is heading back to the field Sunday when the Los Angeles Rams take on the Philadelphia Eagles. That’s huge news for both the team and fantasy managers, but it’s also bringing up old questions about why he sat out the last two games in the first place.
Nacua played in the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers after an incredible 2025 season in which he threw for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns. After that, he missed games against the Giants and Broncos with what the team called a hip injury.
Still, plenty of fans aren’t completely buying the injury story. Some think the Rams secretly benched him as punishment over an offseason incident where he was accused of biting a woman.
Fans Keep Pushing The Silent Suspension Theory

The questions grew louder this week after the Rams shared a video of Nacua at practice. Fans noticed that he moved well during the session despite his recent hip issue.
Nacua faced allegations from an incident on Dec. 31, 2025. TMZ reported in March that a woman claimed Nacua bit her during an encounter inside a Sprinter van. She also included a photo of an alleged injury in her request for a temporary restraining order.

That report sparked plenty of discussion around Nacua’s absence. Still, no evidence shows that the Rams or NFL gave him a secret suspension.

Another social media user said, “No doubt that this was a silent suspension by the Rams for his offseason biting incident.”
@RamsNFL No doubt that this was a silent suspension by the Rams for his offseason biting incident. Wouldn’t be surprised if they made a deal with the NFL that he would be held out two games so he wouldn’t be formally suspended by the league. He’s fine! Let’s roll Puka!!!!

Rams coach Sean McVay offered a much different update Friday. He said Nacua looked strong and explosive during practice.
“He’s looked really good,” McVay said. “Physically, he’s getting in and out of his brakes. Looks strong. Looks sturdy. Looks explosive. … He looks ready to go.”
Nacua also said he was “feeling the urge” to return to the field. His comments suggest he expects to play on Sunday.
For now, the Rams haven’t given anyone a reason to think he was secretly suspended. As far as the official word goes, that hip injury is the only reason he missed those two games.
