The NFL’s wide receiver market has gotten smaller following some notable moves in free agency. However, the Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly lowered their asking price for AJ Brown.

While the former Super Bowl champions have insisted that they would like to keep Brown, they’ve put a price on him. It’s pretty steep, too.

One insider revealed last week that the Eagles rejected the New England Patriots’ offer of a first and third-round pick.

More teams are likely to be interested in Brown following Alec Pierce’s decision to return to the Indianapolis Colts. Even so, the Eagles are reported to have lowered their asking price for the three-time Pro Bowler.

NFL reporter Josina Anderson has suggested that the Eagles would be open to a 2027 first-round pick and a 2026 second-round pick, based on conversations with a league source.

“At some point in discussions, a league source conveyed to me Monday the belief that the #Eagles may be okay with a 2027 1st round pick & a 2026 2nd round pick for WR AJ Brown,” Anderson shared on Monday.

Eagles Have Good Reasons For Wanting Higher Pick Next Year

According to Anderson’s source, teams are likely to be more receptive to giving up their first-rounder next year.

The 2027 draft class is also considered to be stronger than this year’s.

“When, I asked sources why Philly may* be okay with deferring the 1st-round ask to next year, one source told me, “(The Eagles) already have 4 top 100 picks this year. Easier for the other team to give their 1st-round pick next year, than this year.”

Of course, this new asking price is still pretty high.

The Cowboys got a stud in George Pickens for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick.

While Brown is rated higher than Pickens, teams would probably be hesitant to give that much up for a WR who will be 29 by the start of next season.
