The Philadelphia Eagles will have a new sideline reporter next season. Devan Kaney is no longer in the role after leaving SportsRadio 94WIP.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, she lost her job due to layoffs by the station’s parent company, Audacy. Kaney had been with the station since 2022 and became quite popular among fans.
“I had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time there,” Kaney said. “But as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens.”
Kaney worked as a regular co-host on the station’s morning show alongside Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie. She also stepped into the Eagles’ sideline reporter role for the 2024 season after Howard Eskin’s exit.
Changes Hit Philly Sports Media

Kaney is not leaving Philadelphia sports completely. She will continue working as a weekend sports anchor and reporter at FOX 29 Philadelphia, a role she started in 2023. Being from Radnor, Pennsylvania, she has built a strong presence across different platforms.
Before joining WIP, Kaney covered college and pro lacrosse. She worked with big networks like ESPN, TSN, and NBC Sports in sideline and hosting roles.
Her exit comes during a time of change in Philadelphia sports media. NBC Sports Philadelphia also moved on from Taryn Hatcher, who previously covered the Phillies and 76ers.
Hatcher joined the network in 2018 and later became the Flyers’ rinkside reporter. After the 2025 season, NBCSP decided not to renew her contract and removed the role completely, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
NBCSP executive Alexandra Matcham said the network wants to take a new direction. Moreover, they plan to change their storytelling style and reach a wider audience.
Fans will now wait to see who takes over Kaney’s role next season.
