The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2026 NFL offseason is off to a busy start. After a wild-card round elimination against the San Francisco 49ers, they fired Kevin Patullo as offensive coordinator.

Offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland also left the team after 13 years with the organization, amid reports of diminished communication with head coach Nick Sirianni.

These two might not be the only losses the Eagles suffer. They can still see players leave in free agency, and others could call it a career after a season full of ups and downs. An offensive start might have played his last game with the NFC East champions as we speak.

Eagles reporter Jeff McLane speculated that left tackle Lane Johnson (who was out for two months due to injury) would retire this offseason on his “Uncovering the Birds” podcast. Jeff Stoutland’s departure could accelerate the decision.

“In terms of Lane and his future, here’s what I can say: He’s definitely not sure if he’s coming back or not, is the impression I get. You would think maybe this would make it a little less likely,” McLane said. “When you’re looking at retirement, it’s, ‘Can my body do it again? Do I want to do it again? Lane has a very high standard for himself.”

McLane also touched on rumors suggesting guard Landon Dickerson could also be on his way out. McLane labeled Dickerson’s situation as a “question mark.”
