Eric Dickerson is taking a California private school to court over allegations involving his son. The Hall of Fame running back has reportedly filed legal documents against Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village.

The complaint covers the 2024-25 school year, when his son was in sixth grade.

The lawsuit alleges the Black student, identified as DD, endured racial harassment and physical attacks. It accuses the school of failing to protect him despite his parents’ complaints.

DD’s family says classmates repeatedly abused him by using racial slurs and even compared him to an animal during a trip to the zoo. The lawsuit claims one student suggested a racial nickname during music class, and the teacher accused him of lying in front of everyone when he reported it.

The suit also alleges a female student hit DD in the head, took his food and poured out his water.

The family says school staff reviewed video and confirmed the assault, but only spoke to the student. The complaint accuses Oaks Christian of negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and violating California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act.

“His family repeatedly told Oaks Christian what was happening and asked the school to protect him,” attorney Robert Glassman told the California Post. “Instead of stopping the abuse, the school allowed it to continue.”

Oaks Christian has pushed back against the allegations. In a statement reported by IBTimes, the school said it was committed to every student’s dignity and would respond through the legal process. It declined to discuss the students involved because the case involves minors.

The lawsuit also points to an alumni petition, signed by more than 8,100 people in 2020, which documented alleged racism at the school. Those earlier allegations do not establish liability in Dickerson’s case.
