ESPN’s Computer Model Has Surprise Heavy Favorite To Win Super Bowl 60
This article was originally published on Total Pro Sports.

The field for Super Bowl 60 is wide open, with 15 teams sitting at least two games above .500, with 12 of them boasting a winning percentage of .667 or better.
For well over a decade, the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots headlined the list of Super Bowl front-runners. Since 2018, Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs have been at or near the top of the odds-on favorites, too.
There’s a great deal of parity across the NFL this year, which is a welcome development for fans who had grown tired of the Kansas City Chiefs. But according to ESPN’s model, the Los Angeles Rams are the overwhelming favorites to win Super Bowl 60.
Using their Football Power Index model, ESPN gives the Rams the best chances of winning it all at 13.8 percent. Matthew Stafford and company have a 40-percent chance alone of reaching the NFC Championship Game, and a 23.6 percent chance of winning the conference.
The Green Bay Packers are a distant second on ESPN’s FPI model to win the Super Bowl, with a 9.8 percent chance, followed by the Denver Broncos at 8.8 percent.
This year’s Super Bowl will be played at Levi’s Stadium (home of the San Francisco 49ers) on Feb. 8.
Rams May Be The Favorites, But There Are Plenty Of Contenders For Super Bowl 60

The Rams have been dangerous on both sides of the ball this season, and they’re in the driver’s seat to secure the NFC’s top seed and only first-round bye. But they aren’t the only team that checks off most boxes as a title contender.
Even though many aren’t taking them seriously, the records of the 11-2 New England Patriots and 10-2 Denver Broncos speak for themselves. In Philadelphia, Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown may not be on the same page, but it’s always dangerous to rule out the defending champion.
Nobody would be surprised if Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills caught fire in January. If the Chiefs sneak in? Nobody would want to play them. The Chicago Bears would solidify themselves as contenders with a road win over the Green Bay Packers tomorrow. And the San Francisco 49ers? They’re only two years removed from a trip to the Super Bowl.
