Mike Vrabel’s impact on the New England Patriots has transcended the field. The former linebacker changed the team’s culture from Day 1 and has become a positive example for his players. Vrabel, one of four Ohio State Buckeyes set to participate in Super Bowl 60, set the tone from the beginning.

His first speech as the Patriots’ head coach went viral ahead of the big game, and his actions during press conferences have drawn a lot of attention. The Patriots prepare for Sunday’s showdown, and nothing has changed for Vrabel.

The coach has allowed female reporter Karen Guregian to ask the first question at his press conferences. He did the same during his Super Bowl availability, a clip shared on X shows.

Why Does Mike Vrabel Let Karen Guregian Ask The First Question Always?

Back in October, Mike Vrabel discussed the decision of letting Guregian, who has been covering sports for 40 years, ask the first question. He noted that she wasn’t new to him, as Guregian covered the team when he was active.

“Karen covered me here and covered us here when we were players here,” Vrabel told ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “So it felt like it was only right.”

Vrabel’s players have carried his tradition. Drake Maye allowed a female reporter to ask the first question during his availability a couple of weeks ago.

After a chaotic 2024 season, Vrabel turned things around in Foxborough. They are one win away from winning their first Super Bowl since 2019, this time with another exciting head coach-quarterback duo.
