San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones appears to be going through some heartbreak.

Jones is reportedly single following a breakup with his long-time girlfriend, Sophie Scott. She first went viral before the 2021 NFL Draft as she got ready to support her boyfriend. Jones spent last season with the San Francisco 49ers, and rumors suggest that he might get traded.

It now appears that Jones is also a free agent when it comes to his relationship status. Social media is sure that Mac Jones and his girlfriend are no longer an item.

Internet chatter claiming a split has started spreading, with fans thinking Jones has broken up with Scott. The rumor wave appears to trace back to X, who said Jones and Scott have “reportedly” split.

Social media is heartbroken for Mac Jones.

“What really sucks about this is that she was there before the money and the fame. She was a real one. Now he has to navigate a dating field full of gold-diggers and fakes. Good luck, dude,” one fan said.

“Devastated for the dog,” a second person pointed out.

Mac Jones Might Be On A New Team

The San Francisco gave Sam Darnold a much-needed reset and appears to have transformed his career. Could the same happen with Mac Jones? The 49ers were expecting several teams to line up for Jones.

While Brock Purdy missed a handful of games, Jones came in and delivered for the offense and kept them afloat during his absence. Given how well he played, the 49ers thought teams would be lining up to trade for him.

But so far, that hasn’t been the case, according to The Athletic.

“Let’s be clear: The 49ers are not looking to trade Jones, with general manager John Lynch saying Tuesday that ‘we’re a better team with him on it.’ But they definitely expected to be tempted by a third-round-pick offer — if not higher,” The Athletic wrote.

“The Minnesota Vikings were supposedly very interested, and there were a few teams that also needed someone like Jones, who won five games for the 49ers off the bench last season and is still only 27 years old.”

It will be interesting to see if a team is hungry enough to throw a Day 2 pick at the 49ers for Jones.
