Trysten Hill is receiving a lot of hate after his recent arrest and a mugshot that spread online. The former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle appeared smiling in the photo, which many found disturbing given the charges he now faces.
Authorities arrested Hill on March 26, according to records obtained by the Daily Mail. He has been charged with third-degree felony assault of a pregnant woman. He also faces a misdemeanor charge for interfering with an emergency call for help.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said deputies also acted on two bond forfeiture warrants linked to a 2025 case. The Dallas Morning News reported those details. Officials have not shared the woman’s identity or her connection to Hill.
Hill was taken to the Wayne McCollum Detention Center in Waxahachie at around 2:30 p.m. His bond was set at $3,500.
Career That Never Matched Expectations
Hill came into the NFL with high expectations. He played college football at the University of Central Florida and impressed scouts. The Dallas Cowboys picked him 58th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft.
He struggled to stay consistent in Dallas. Hill played 25 games in four seasons, with 33 tackles and half a sack. The Cowboys released him during the 2022 season.

After that, he moved between teams. He played six games for the Arizona Cardinals in 2022. He also spent time on the practice squad of the Cleveland Browns. Later, the New England Patriots signed him, but he played only three games in two seasons.
In 2024, the Indianapolis Colts added him to their practice squad but later released him. Since then, he has not signed with any team.
Over his NFL career, Hill played 34 games and started five. He finished with 39 tackles and one and a half sacks.
Now, his recent arrest has shifted attention away from football. The case is still under investigation, and officials have not shared more details.
