It might be time for Greg Hardy to retire from sports altogether.
The former NFL star and UFC fighter has transitioned to boxing, and things are not working out well for him. Hardy, who was taking on Russian fighter Evgeny Goncharov, may have bitten off way more than he could chew after the latter refused to continue the fight.
The fight took place on November 28 in Vologda at the Vologda Sports Palace arena as part of the Vologda Region Governor’s Cup as part of the REN TV Fight Club.
In the third round of the matchup, Hardy, who was arrested on assault charges a few months ago, endured a brutal few minutes of action, and his body simply could not take any more.
Greg Hardy could be seen on his knees struggling just before the fourth round, and seemingly became ill as trainers tended to him. The former NFL star could be heard coughing, and although he wanted to give it another try, the doctors concluded that he could not continue the fight.

Greg Hardy Has Tried Every Sport Since His Last NFL Game

Greg Hardy played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels and was selected by the Panthers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL draft. His career would change forever when he was found guilty of assaulting a former girlfriend. It led to him not being re-signed by the Panthers after playing one game with them in 2014. Hardy spent his final NFL season with the Dallas Cowboys.
He would embark on an MMA career and started hot to the point that Dana White announced he would fight under his promotion in 2018. After obtaining an undefeated professional record of 3–0, with all three wins coming by way of knockout, his first UFC fight came the following year.
Things wouldn’t go as well as he had four wins and five losses with UFC. He was then released in 2022.
Hardy then tried Bare-Knuckle fighting, where he fought and lost once before ending that era.
Greg Hardy made his professional boxing debut in 2022, winning via knockout in the 2nd round against Mike Cook. Hardy then defeated Rahman Jr. via unanimous decision later that year. He added another win in 2023 before he would get knocked out in 2024.
Now that he has lost again, who knows what is next for the troubled former NFL star?
