Things are not off to a good start for the Vikings and Justin Jefferson.

Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s Week 3 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The explicit incident occurred in the first quarter after he caught his first two passes for 32 yards. Subsequently, television cameras captured the explosive playmaker walking directly into the sideline medical tent.

He would not come out for quite some time.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson emerged from the medical tent with heavy white tape wrapped securely around both of his ankles. The star playmaker briefly retreated inside the blue diagnostic structure after suffering a first-quarter ankle injury. Subsequently, training staff meticulously taped up his lower legs to maximize lateral stability and prevent further structural damage.

This uniform bracing ensures that a player does not overcompensate and accidentally hurt the opposite side.

Unfortunately, Jefferson would make his way to the locker room with just under eight minutes to play in the second quarter. It is currently unknown if Jefferson will return for the second half.

The Vikings are trying to start the year 3-0 for the first time since 2024. Consequently, the Bucs are trying to avoid a 0-3 start.
