Geno Smith clapped back at Wendy’s after the fast food joint took a swipe at him on Friday. But fans reckon he should have let this one go.

The Las Vegas Raiders are releasing the veteran quarterback after just one season.

Smith started 15 games for the AFC West franchise after they traded for him last offseason. He won’t look back fondly on 2025 as he went 2-13 and recorded the most interceptions among all NFL quarterbacks with 17.

With the 35-year-old now in search of a new home, Wendy’s has reached out, presenting him with an option in case he doesn’t sign with another team.

“in case things don’t work out in free agency we’re looking for a Chief Tasting Officer…” the restaurant tweeted on Friday.

Smith responded over an hour later.

“Get ya cheese up 1st,” he wrote, sharing a screenshot of a headline denoting the company’s financial struggles.

Fans didn’t rate Smith’s comeback.

“nah bro take this loss homie,” one commented.

“Geno rn..” another joked, sharing that viral Omar Cooper video.

“You’re so washed that you’re arguing with a fast food,” another fan wrote.

“Get your QBR up first. It was lower than your age,” someone suggested.

“Still taking L’s as a free agent,” someone else claimed.

“You really picking a fight with fast food?” one user asked.

While most fans thought the QB lost this one, a few fans thought he did okay.

“Someone actually clapped back at Wendy’s and did well,” someone offered.

It will be interesting to see where Geno lands after his torrid campaign in Vegas. Should things not work out, he may not be able to count on Wendy’s anymore.
