The father of a 16-year-old high school football player wants answers from the school after his kid died following a collapse in practice. Jaren Lawson, a member of the Stevens High School football team, died after collapsing at an offseason football practice.
His father, Troy, demands that authorities give him answers about what led to his son’s tragic death. Lawson’s family and friends are heartbroken over his death, and new details about that day might reveal that coaches didn’t give him a pass when he didn’t feel healthy enough to complete the workout.
Mr. Lawson claimed that his son was encouraged to fight through a workout before the tragedy. The school denies the accusation.
Jaren Lawson’s Teammate Said They Told The Late Player To Avoid Punishment During Practice

One of Jaren Lawson’s teammates said the 16-year-old started moving more slowly, which caused concerns among his teammates. They urged him to avoid staying longer on the floor or the coaches would punish them.
“He started getting slower and everybody was telling him to get up because the longer he stayed on the floor, they started counting down and then we have to restart up downs,” Jaren’s teammate allegedly said.
His father hasn’t stopped looking for answers.
“Lawson says Northside ISD officials have not reached out to him and that he is still seeking answers about what happened the day Jaren collapsed,” News4SA reported.
This is such a huge tragedy that nobody should experience. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lawson’s loved ones.
