Fernando Mendoza has managed to enhance his already glowing reputation with a small gesture at the NFL Scouting Combine. 

Mendoza is the prospect with the highest profile at the event, yet he isn’t going through the drills on the back of his Heisman-winning season. 

He also has a national championship on his CV – you can verify via LinkedIn – so there’s not much more he can do. 

The Indiana quarterback is projected to go No. 1 overall in this year’s NFL Draft. He has apparently been advised to get himself arrested to lower his stock. 

In case you’re doubting this, he’s said so himself.

As noted above, Mendoza isn’t participating in the on-field drills this weekend, yet it didn’t stop him from stretching with his teammates. 

The NFL was sure to highlight this.

“Mendoza isn’t working out, but he’s still gonna stretch with his guys😂,” the league shared via X.

“He might not be running drills but he’s not disappearing either. Stretching with the group keeps him visible and involved. NFL teams evaluate everything  not just throws and 40 times. Body language, attitude, presence… it all counts,” someone wrote in the comments.

“😆 His heart tells him he wants to do the drills,” someone else suggested.

“You can tell that, if not for his agent/team, he would’ve done all the drills,” said a third.

“Real ones just vibe, no agenda,” another user claimed.

The Raiders are expected to draft Mendoza next month. Their No. 1 overall pick is considered off-limits across the NFL.
