Fired NFL Reporter Speaks Out After Being Compared To Dianna Russini For Having Sexual Relationship With QB

Former USA Today reporter Crissy Froyd has lashed out at folks who have tried comparing her to Dianna Russini.
Froyd was one of Russini’s most vocal and harsh critics after the New York Post’s viral revelation. And it cost her her job.
USA Today fired Froyd on the back of social media posts slamming her contemporary, who also lost her job.
Russini resigned from The Athletic after the outlet opened an investigation into her relationship with Mike Vrabel.
It does appear that Russini and Vrabel were having an affair, given the photos that sparked the probe, plus everything that’s been released since.
The reporter and coach are both married and share children with their spouses. But it does look like their relationships remain intact.
Froyd, meanwhile, is known to have dated former USC, Georgia and West Virginia quarterback JT Daniels. And she’s been branded a hypocrite because of it.
The 26-year-old took to X over the weekend to address the comparisons.
“I didn’t cheat, lie, have kids, have an affair with another person who had kids, etc. No professional gain either,” she wrote in a tweet, adding a photo of them together. “Maybe use your damn brain before trying to compare, or you may just be a dumbass if you assume I’m like her.”
Crissy Froyd’s Relationship With JT Daniels Was Never A Secret

Froyd and Daniels were in a very public relationship and, according to her, it didn’t begin until he transitioned into coaching.
They dated from 2023 to 2025. Froyd later accused Daniels of being abusive while they were together.
She addressed the hypocrisy claims in an interview with Page Six after the Vrabel-Russini story broke in April.
“Someone was like, ‘Oh, like you slept with JT Daniels,’ and I’m like, ‘Well, yeah, that’s my former partner,’” she said.
“I don’t like having to respond to some of that stuff, but I finally was just like, if any of you have a claim with evidence that I have done exactly what she’s done, I would love to see it.”
Froyd recently wrote a lengthy piece for the Daily Mail claiming there are plenty more Russinis in the media space as she called out NFL “corruption.”
