A Bronx man has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of New York Jets player Kris Boyd.
Last month, the Jets star was left in critical condition after being shot in Manhattan. The cornerback was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where teammates, family, and friends prayed for his health. A bullet hit his lung and lodged in his pulmonary artery. He was later discharged.
Footage later emerged showing Boyd on the ground being attended to by medical personnel.
The 29-year-old was in the midst of his first season with the Jets after signing with them this offseason. Fast forward almost a month, and now someone has been arrested for the shooting.
The suspect was Bronx resident Frederick Green, who was arrested on Monday. The 20-year-old was charged with attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Frederick Green gave himself up to the police in Buffalo. It came after the Regional Fugitive Task Force located him at his girlfriend’s apartment on Monday. Amid the manhunt for Kris Boyd’s shooter, he also cut his hair to disguise himself.
More On Kris Boyd’s Shooter

The New York Police Department said Frederick Green was the shooter of Kris Boyd last month. Boyd was shot in the abdomen on Nov. 16 in midtown Manhattan.
The incident began after Boyd and several other Jets players left a club and were approached by a group of men who made fun of their attire. A fight eventually broke out between the men, and Boyd was shot.
Kris Boyd and his friends were not armed.
Surveillance video from the area showed Green running away and getting into a vehicle. He had been hiding at his girlfriend’s apartment. Once law enforcement found the apartment, the suspect was seen “peeking out the apartment window looking for an escape avenue but retreated inside after seeing the team and a canine officer,” a statement said.
The stand-off ended when the suspect left the apartment with his hands up.
In the meantime, Kris Boyd has been providing updates on his condition on his Instagram. However, it appears that his account has since been deleted.
Boyd’s first season with the Jets was already affected. He had been on the injured reserve list since August due to a shoulder injury.
