Georgia police arrested a former NFL first-round pick last week. The 31-year-old was busted walking out of a store with groceries in his pants. That was the beginning of what may be a troubling time for Robert Nkemdiche, a former defensive tackle.

TMZ Sports reported that the former Arizona Cardinals star exited a Kroger in Georgia last week when an officer conducting a business area check observed the former player with “many large objects, square and rectangular shapes, consistent with concealed grocery items, inside his sweatpants,” the police report said.

The agent called for backup as Nkemdiche walked to a gas station. Once he made contact with the former lineman, the cop put him in double-locked handcuffs. That led to a major discovery about Robert Nkemdiche’s prior run-ins with the law.

Once the cop found Nkemdiche, he no longer had items in his pants. However, items such as frozen groceries and candy bars were found after they searched through Kroger and the gas station parking lot. Nevertheless, the police later learned that Nkemdiche was a sought-after man.

After searching for Robert Nkemdiche’s name, they found multiple warrants in several states. He had three in Georgia. Nkemdiche was then booked.

Nkemdiche entered the league as the No. 29 pick in the 2016 NFL draft. He spent three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals (2016-18) and one with the Seattle Seahawks (2021). He played 36 games, recording 59 tackles, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery for 21 yards, and three passes defended.
