Unhappy football fans already think that the NFL refs are “fixing” the San Francisco 49ers-Philadelphia Eagles playoff game, even though we’re four days away from kickoff.

After losing to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18, a game with the NFC West division crown at stake, the 49ers fell into the No. 6 seed. They’ll face off against the defending champions at Lincoln Financial Field, a rematch of the 2022 NFC Championship Game.

Even though the game is still four sleeps away, fans already think the NFL refs have “fixed” the game in favor of Nick Sirianni’s group. Alan Eck will be the head official for Sunday’s highly anticipated clash.

As noted by the @PHLEaglesNation X/Twitter account, the Eagles are 8-1 in games officiated by Eck. On the flip side, the 49ers are just 3-6 in games the veteran official works.

Now, the NFL refs are facing accusations of already “fixing” the game for the Eagles.

“If history tells us anything, Alan will be the 12th man in Philly on Sunday!,” a fan said.

“And they say games aren’t rigged 😉,” a user commented.

“I mean, there’s an obvious bias here. But as someone who hates the Niners, I’m giggling. 🤭,” a fan wrote.

“I know they say “don’t judge a book by its cover”. But dude looks guilty. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂,” another said.

“And those that say sports aren’t rigged…..wake up,” wrote a fan.

“Seems like the fix is in. Just put $1000 on the Eagles,” a user stated.

Another storyline to follow throughout the clash between two perennial NFC contenders.

In today’s age of social media and a booming sports betting industry, it doesn’t take much for disgruntled football fans to accuse the referees of “fixing” games. After all, fans already think the refs are “rigging” the Wild Card Round game between the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fans have grown tired of officials taking over games with never-ending mistakes. They’re never going to be perfect. But all fans can do is hope that they’ll be fair and consistent, and not determine the outcomes with questionable calls (or non-calls).

Officials have the benefit of expanded replay review this year. Now, we sit back and hope that they’ll do their jobs accordingly with the playoffs underway.
